(More customer reviews)What a great cookware set! I was so eager to get this 10-piece KitchenAid collection of pots and pans in the red color. I decided to cook a meal that would allow me to test every piece in this fine set so that I could evaluate it for prospective buyers as soon as possible. The meal was basic spaghetti with a red meat sauce (hamburger) with vegetables.
I began by sauteing mushrooms in the 8-1/2-inch skillet and then put onions, garlic, and green peppers with a little olive oil and cooked them in the 10-inch skillet. The reinforced nonstick interior was fantastic -- the skillets heated up quickly and evenly and the items were cooked appropriately with no hot spots. I then used the 3 Qt. Covered Saute pan to brown hamburger (no added oil was needed to prevent sticking) and the tomatoes and red sauce went into the same pan after draining off the excess grease. Everything slid so easily! I loved having the glass lid so that I could see the food while cooking. The handles, the silicone a very nice touch, were not hot and were very nicely constructed for ease in maneuvering and lifting. Water was set to boil in the 6 Qt. covered stockpot while fresh broccoli and frozen corn were cooked in the 1 Qt. and 2 Qt. covered saucepans. It was great to have the lids -- they fit securely and the silicone again makes them easy to remove without being too hot to handle. Dinner was perfectly cooked and the best thing was the SUPER EASY clean up. The interior surfaces were amazingly easy to clean and the beautiful red porcelain enamel exteriors were stain resistant making dishwashing a breeze!
The only thing I did not test was putting any of the cookware into the oven though the packaging assures me that the pots and pans are resistant to 400ยบ F. What a great idea that is for those stove-top to oven to table meals. One thing that bothers me is that I worry that I might accidentally scratch the surfaces of the interior by using a utensil that isn't the right type and/or might harm the interior by stacking the pans inside each other with the exterior rubbing against the interior. Time will tell how long the set lasts and its durability will definitely be tested in my home!
In short, the pots and pans in this set are beautiful and functional making it a great product for anyone preparing basic meals for family and friends.

This cookware set is an exceptional value, including all of the pans needed to equip your kitchen with the most used cooking pieces. As the set contains only basic pieces, you'll really use each and every pan. It includes saucepans for whisking a homemade sauce or cooking your morning oatmeal, a big stockpot for soups, stews or boiling pasta, and skillets (probably the most used pan in any kitchen) that will help you turn out perfect crepes or a simple grilled cheese sandwich. The set also includes a saute pan, a wide, straight-sided pan that can perform many of the functions of a skillet but features deep sides for extra capacity, perfect for one dish meals. Start your dish in this pan by sauteing onions and browning meat, then add your liquid and other ingredients into the same pan to finish on the stovetop or in the oven.
